Love Given is Never Love Wasted

Love has been on my mind a lot lately.
Watching rom coms left and right, I’ve realized one of my biggest fears in this life is to waste years being dishonest with myself and the people around me. To be unhappy in a relationship because I don’t have the courage to tell the truth. To remember someone that I should’ve fought for but let go of.
The only way I can avoid this is by expressing myself fully. Maybe it makes me vulnerable to tell people how I feel. To walk around with my heart on my sleeve and my arms wide open. Of course I’ll get hurt. But I’d rather pick myself back up than regret or wonder what could’ve happened if I’d just been honest.
Even when I’ve been in relationships that I knew weren’t going to work out, I don’t regret my time. I don’t regret pouring my love into someone with the hopes that it could be the answer to all our problems. Of course, it was naive of me to think that, but it’s okay. I wouldn’t have learned without trying.
Love given is never love wasted, and I’ve always said that. The love I put into this world will find its way back to me.
And no, none of this means that I spend my days wishing I had someone to share them with. All I’m saying is that when the universe puts someone in my life that I don’t want to live without, I won’t keep quiet. I will empty my heart out, making sure they know exactly how I feel. And when the right person comes around, what we create will be magical and special. Life will be exciting and calming at the same time. There will be so much love that I’ll feel silly for ever questioning mother universe’s divine timing.
So I will keep open arms. I’ll tell people what they mean to me. I’ll love without keeping score. And when love finds me, it will be tenfold.
