Intentions
Updated: Aug 8

There have certainly been periods in my life where I am the villain in someone else’s story. No matter how kind I try to be, how considerate I am, or what I do to protect someone else’s feelings, there will always be someone who gets hurt. That’s the thing about life, things almost never go according to plan.
Instead of longing for a perfect outcome, I can find comfort in my intentions. If they were in the right place, I can forgive myself for not acting perfectly. I can accept that shit happens.
This doesn’t mean that I walk around throwing people to the ground with good intentions. It doesn’t mean that no one will get hurt. It just means that I try my best to be a kind human. Intending only to love others and be true to myself on this journey of life.
The hardest part is finding the ability to do this when it comes to other people. To see through the hurt and realize that others are also just trying their best. Of course, some people will intentionally hurt me for whatever reason. Sometimes people act out of ill will. But this is rarely the case. Everyone is always looking out for themselves and their feelings.
So today I choose not blame myself anymore. I will act with good intentions and assume that of other humans too.
And that’s all I can really do in the end.
