A day in the life

Each day while backpacking looks a bit different. For me, it’s a happy mix between type A and B behavior.

Weeks at a time can flow with ease, not a single care about plans. Not choosing anything in advance. I wake up and as the day goes on, things come up. Maybe I meet another traveler that I join for a sunset hike. If I have an idea for the day but something else is proposed, I flow. Maybe I cancel plans and stay home. Super flexible and adaptable, type B vibes.

There are other times when I spend a few hours on ChatGPT researching and planning a full trip. I look at all the flights options, best hostels, fun neighborhoods to stay in. Maybe there is a day trip that needs precise timing, I can get it done. Very organized and type A.

Of course I’m talking about my style of travel. But aren’t we all just traveling through life?

On this travel, we can choose to be entertained and content with whatever happens. To have a good time regardless of the situation. Not to get attached to plans, switching the day up with a smile. When it’s necessary, dedicate some energy to specifics. Other than that, enjoy each day as it comes.
